An immersive seating space representing a memory of a pool that was once used as a makeshift morgue. The tiled wallpaper is tactile with engraved grout. We projected videos of everyday spaces: a bedroom with curtains blowing from the wind versus bedroom curtains blowing violently due to an explosion. We added speakers to the walls that resembled to return-inlets for audio support. It is also an accessible space as we included an AODA ramp at the entrance. The skateboard ramp like shape, serves as a seating area. Although not intended, it was also a playful space as children competitively ran up the ramp.
As attendees enter the swimming pool, they are greeted by the strange sloping wall of the deep end. The tiles serve to dazzle their eyes and direct their gaze towards the video projection. As the film progresses, video clips are presented of prisoners of war jailed in school bathrooms and a soldier shooting from a bedroom window.
